Golden Cross
A bullish chart signal that fires when a faster moving average climbs above a slower one.
The textbook version is the 50-day moving average crossing above the 200-day. Chartists read it as confirmation that medium-term momentum has overtaken the longer trend, a sign buyers have taken control.
It's a lagging signal. By the time the cross prints, much of the move has often already happened. Bitcoin's golden crosses have preceded major rallies and also fired right before sharp pullbacks. The opposite event, a death cross, marks the bearish version. Neither predicts; both describe what price already did.
